A caregiving journey that became a calling — anchored in compassion and trust.
My name is Shavonda Lindsey, a proud Galveston native, born and raised, and the heart behind Anchored Personal Assistance Services, LLC. From a very young age, caring for others came naturally to me—it was never a job, but a calling. I remember vividly, at just ten years old, riding with my father down I-45 South and speaking words that would unknowingly shape my future. Even then, I knew my purpose involved serving and caring for others.
Life’s journey required me to step fully into that calling. At the age of 28, I became my mother’s primary caregiver after she suffered a stroke that left her paralyzed and non-verbal. For eight years, my family and I navigated challenges, sacrifices, and moments that forever changed us. During that time, I altered my life completely to be present, to advocate, and to care for the woman who had always cared for me. What I did not realize then was that this chapter was preparing me for something greater. Through that experience, I learned firsthand what families need—support, compassion, consistency, and someone who truly understands. I turned my pain into purpose and founded Anchored Personal Assistance Services, LLC to be the support I once needed during my own caregiving journey. Today, I am proud to be the owner of Anchored, where our mission is rooted in compassion, trust, and genuine connection. We believe caregiving is more than assistance—it is presence, dignity, and love. At Anchored, our foundation is simple yet powerful: God is Love, and Love is Healing..
